I think that having a centralized place for project information and question answering would benefit all projects. Most people do not know where or how to asks questions and get answers. Using slack, or discord, or any other type of community resource would benefit the community and help people collaborate.
Based on statistics, projects that use communications channels like these show:
Impact on Project Success and Productivity:
1) 32% higher rate of success in projects
2) 36% increase in productivity
3) 20% improved project timelines
4) 66% efficiency Boost
Quality and Team Coordination:
1) 24% increase in success feature launches
2) 80% increase in transparency, with 62.4% finding it easier to find information
3) 48.6 reduction in team friction
Success Risks and Large Projects:
1) Noise reduction in emails related to the same topic
2) 53% of projects that do not use communications have workers who report wasting time due to communication issues
3) 83% of users believe losing access to communication channels impact workplaces negatively.
I can tell you from my own personal experience that Zendesk does not answer questions and they refer you to emails that you have already read. I have had to send in emails showing them I already read the information and that it isn't there, and then they refer me back to the same emails I sent them. Zendesk is helpful for "real" technical issues such as loss of access to platforms, password resets, etc, but they do NOT have enough information on the projects to provide meanigful answers related to the material.
This channel is meant for improving the community, and it needs a lot of help.
