For in-house positions, you would need to live in a country where RWS has an office - even if you were to work remotely or in a hybrid setup. This is for payroll purposes. For freelancers, in most cases it will not matter where you live, except for time difference issues. For certain accounts (not RegLab, though), clients require linguists to live in the country of the language they translate into.
