Idea Delivered

Hi Russell,

This is already possible today using permissions. Sharing Termbases was an initial mechanism we had a few years back to share with users outside a tenant, before we had more comprehensive permissions (we are still debating if we should retire this mechanism eventually).

You essentially can grant access to Termbases by placing them in a Customer and then granting permissions (either read-only or read-write).

With SSO and Automated user provisioning, you could also automate this process and grant certain users access to only those termbases when they first login.

Thanks,
Luis

Simplify term base permissions for vendor users

Currently, to share a term base with someone, you need to share a link. This is not scalable as you need to make sure every user gets a copy of this link. This would be better handled through permissions within TE.

  • Hi Luis,

This does not really explain to me how to grant our vendors access. The vendors are in their own tree outside of customers. Our term base is in Root > Customers > Home whereas our vendors are Root > Vendors. Are you saying that in order for our vendors to see the term base the term base should be at Root?

    Thanks,

    Russell

  • Hi Russell,

Yes, indeed, if you want to make it available to Vendors it needs to be in Root. But without knowing all your plans and setup it's difficult to say for sure, so would be best to involve the RWS team that is consulting you for best practice based on intended final setup.

    Thanks,
