Spellchecker in Online Editor

In the Online Editor there is no built in function for simple grammar and spell checking. To find misspelled words the user instead has to rely on using a third party browser plugin. Handling corporate translations that can contain highly sensitive information means that sending the text to a 3rd party, outside the LanguageCloud environment, for spellchecking is not an option we can use. A simple, MS Word like, spell checker would make the Online Editor much more useful.

  • There is basically no "MS Word like" spellchecker which you can use from within the browser which doesn't send data to 3rd party location. You can use built-in browser spellchecker - only the basic one in case of Chrome based browsers, which doesn't send any data anywhere.

    Another option, for corporate customers, is to use private instance of LanguageTools server which you can configure within the LanguageTools plug-in  - that would give you exactly what you are looking for.

    Note - creating spellchecker and grammar checker which would cover all supported languages is actually huge deal.
