This is possible, likely your browser is blocking multiple tabs from being opened.

Open more than one file at the same time in Trados Live

We can click on two files at the same time in Trados Live, but then, only one file opens up. We would like the two files opened in two tabs.

This is for sure possible, I think you need to change security settings of your browser to allow multiple "pop-ups" to be opened.
