Checking the free TU capacity of the TM server should be moved to overnight maintenance task

Working with Trados Studio (any version) and connecting to a server based translation memory users can get annoyed and frustrated by the very "nice" warning message.

As such message show "out of the blue" after may years of cooperation, lingusits get concerned.

It's true that the warning message does not prevent users to work in Studio, but it is annoying as it shows up every time you start Trados.

Warning message in Trados Studio stating 'You are approaching the licensed number of translation units (95% of 24000000 used). Contact your contact person to obtain a server upgrade.' with an OK button.  Warning dialog box in Trados Studio with a message: 'You are approaching the licensed number of translation units (95% of 40000000 used). Please contact your vendor for a server extension upgrade.' with an OK button.

As you can see on the image above, 5% available capacity in the case of 40 million TU is stil 2.000.000 TU's and such a number of TU's usually does not get consumed so fast hence no rush in buying additional TU's.

My suggestions related to the above are the following:
1. add an option setting (not have to be done via GroupShare dashboard or GS management console) to allow the change of "warning" limit.  This would allow GroupShare administrators to customize the warming level as they fell appropriate and reduce the annoyance to linguists.

2. as such event is important for GroupShare administrator, such "free TU's check" really belong to the background tasks of the GroupShare server and could be run daily as a part of the overnight maintenance task.

I hope the above make sense and can be implemented (at least via some kind of .settings ) in one of the next GroupShare CU's.
