Hello,
This idea could potentially benefit a lot my team and probably several others.
As far as I know, the auto-bundling Groupshare option enabled in Helix only groups several "jobs" from one "project"
But if you go to a TMS, quite often you'll find a lot of jobs from different projects, so nothing is bundled at all:
I wish I had a better example at the moment, but the list is often quite longer. As you can see, each job has a different project ID.
Would it be possible to bundle jobs from different projects as well? I'm thinking we could set some conditions, like only bundle jobs under some specific word count (let's say 300 words or perhaps set by the user) and if they should be delivered on the same date or within a specific time frame (let's say 24 hours).
With regular clients such as AGCO and Paccar this would reduce a lot our admin work, because we could switch from the following workflow...
1) Go to TMS or TE every day. Manually check word counts. If word counts are high, download jobs individually. If word counts are low, select several jobs with similar delivery dates and download together. Process in Trados (pre-translate, analyze, plus Evolve steps). Then manually enter information in our Universal Tracker. No use of Groupshare at all because it's more of a waste of time than help when there are many small jobs.
... to this optimized workflow requiring almost no manual work:
2) Jobs are automatically bundled, processed with Groupshare and Evolve, and automatically appear in our Universal Tracker with correct word counts thanks to Power Automate integration between Outlook and Excel. (We would still need to tweak Groupshare notification emails, but I'll post a separate idea for that). We would only need to assign jobs to linguists.
I hope someone can see the value in this and that it's technically feasible.
