Merge files to publish

This is an idea between GS and Desktop.
If you have to mange a big project (I mean with a big number of files, typically xml projects) could be very important merge files in order to publish few (or less) files than source.
I had an experience with a project with more then 3000 xml files. The idea was to manage it via GS but it was unmanageable probably for the big amount of file to synchronize.

  • Hi - You have the Merge Files functionality in Studio. When you create a project and add the files to it, there is a button on the same screen to merge them. If you then look at this project in the GroupShare Web UI for example, you only see 1 file. The individual files though are still visible in Studio, but can not be opened separately for translation. Have you tried this approach? Maybe it solves the problem. If not and if you are getting any specific errors with that groupshare project with 3000 xml files, please open a support case so we can investigate and see if there is a defect or something else that can be done there to help you. But for the purpose of this Idea suggestion, please test what I recommended and if it's not what you wanted, be a bit more detailed in your request so that Product Management can better understand it.
