64-bit version of Studio

Please create a 64-bit version of Studio. At present only a 32-bit version is available, and therefore it can theoretically only access 2-3GB of system memory, meaning that upgrading your machine with more memory then this does not have any beneficial impact on Studio performance.

When handling large files & projects, allowing Studio access to all of your system's memory would make a huge difference in time and performance, and for this the app needs to be 64-bit.

Are there any plans to release a 64-bit version in future?

  • There's a real problem with the slowness of Trados in certain areas. Just to give you an example. I've just upgraded my computer to Intel I5-9600K, a real speed demon, installed a fresh copy of Win10 on Samsung's devillishly fast SSD M.2 EVO 970, installed 16 GBs of RAM and reinstalled Trados 2017.

You can imagine how surprised I was, when I decided to import a smalll 500 TU TM into my 100k Big Mama. It imported the TUs in around 3 seconds, no problem, but then... got completely stuck for around 4 minutes on the "recomputing fuzzy index" thing.

Seems like the hardware upgrade was money well spent...
