Add Embedded Content handling to CSV v 2.0.0.0 File Type

Hi Community,

CSV v 2.0.0.0 File Type is nice since it enables translation file to be bilingual, especially when we and/or the client do not want to convert CSV to Excel for translation and convert it back to CSV after translation. I totally understand the hesitation as conversion to Excel and back is not straightforward, and could involve risks depending on the data.

The reality is we are hardly able to use CSV v 2.0.0.0 File Type because there is no embedded content handling available. Can we please have Embedded Content handling for CSV v 2.0.0.0 File Type?

Can we have this Data Protection in TMS and WS so that it will be automated and word count report take this into consideration? My idea was prompted by a WS customer who provided two options for translation format, bilingual CSV format or bilingual XML format, which wasn't an ideal format. In bilingual XML were <EN> tag for the source and <FR-CA> for target content, for example. Thanks! - Naoko

Is https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/sdl-data-protection-suite/936/ a potential option - it can mark non-translatable content using any regex and so could be a generic option across file types. Don't be confused by the "data protection" message around it - it's actually a nice generic "mark up any non-translatable content using regex" tool.
