Confirm without updating translation memory

Please offer an option to confirm a segment without updating TM.

It's useful for only number segments, or segments where source is same as target (e.g segments containing only placeable), etc., where you can use this option to confirm such a segment and leverage auto-propagation for all other similar segments.

And you don't worry about these segments messing up your precious TMs.

thank you

  • Judging by Jerzy's answer below, would a whole new status not be an option (confirmed but not for TM import)? We currently leave segments we don't want in our TMs as "untranslated" to avoid mixing up real draft segments that still require work and drafts that are the result of a consciencious decision. This however messes up progress statistics.

  • Just right click and change segment status to translated. But if you confirm the segment and then run a TM update task, such segments will update the TM and do what you want to avoid. So instead of confirming, edit the number as needed and simply lock the segment. If you are relying on autopropagation, it is better to filter out only number segments, copy all source to target, adapt the numbers as needed and then lock them. This way you will not have them in TM.
You can also use a simple regex to filer all non-translatable content and deal with it before starting your translation. Just use this: ^[\d\W]*$
