Idea delivered through searching using the Search Details pane instead of the Find feature.

Faster and easier Search in a TM

Normally, in SDL Trados Studio (at leas up to 2011), when searching from start in a opened TM, if the text is not found found in the 1st page, one gets a message that the text was not found and a prompt to continue or not the search. I find this not only totally unnecessary but also very annoying. Imagine that the text is to be found in te 10th, 20th, etc. page ...  One has to continue clicking and clicking and clicking for next search ...
So, I think it is more than obvious, esp. for any sensible programming, for the S/W to just continue to search for the text until it finds it and, if not, only at the end issuing a message that it has not been found.

This is not a request, not even an idea. It's a complaint referring to a need for fixing an objectively and evidently deficient search process.

  • Thank you. Of course this is a way, but it doesn't solve the "Find" issue, esp. the useless and nonsensical button hittings. Also, the Search details method isolates the segments found from everything else, so one misses the general context, which is shon by the "Find" method.

In short, the *"Find" method is the standard one* and the issue I mentioned can be easily fixed if someone cares.
