How can I translate Excel Workbooks in Trados Studio 2011? I cannot seem to add the files.

I use Studio 2011, and need to translate several Excel Workbook files. But, when I want to add the files to a Project, these are not accepted. How can work with them? Do I need to update to Studio 2017? If I did, would I be able to add the Excel  Workbook files?
