I would like to suggest the addition of a "Restore to Factory Settings" feature within the Trados Studio desktop client, similar to the "Reset Window Layout" option, which is brilliantly designed. Although there is a plugin called "Trados Freshstart" that supposedly offers similar functionality, we are not very familiar with the extra plugin and hence have not used it. My suggestion is to integrate this "Restore to Factory Settings" button directly into the Trados Studio desktop client. This would allow users to revert to the factory state regardless of any unexpected issues without manually renaming folders in the C drive.
Moreover, reinstalling the Trados Studio desktop client should restore it to the factory state, avoiding the need for manual folder renaming. Currently, some issues persist even after reinstallation, possibly because the folder in the C drive does not automatically reset to a new position.
In our fast-paced translation environment, encountering unexpected issues can be quite disruptive. Having a quick and reliable way to restore Trados Studio (desktop client) to its original state would ensure that we can continue working without delays, adhering to strict project deadlines. This functionality would be immensely valuable, allowing us to maintain productivity and deliver translations on time,without being affected by all the errors and bugs.
