Access to some basic functions of the WS servers

At Belkin (and in most of the big companies), only our IT department has access to the servers of WS. The administrators of WS can't quickly retrieve the Language Resource file from the servers for example (https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001677). We need to ask our IT manager's approval, etc. Would be nice to have access to the basic linguistic resources of our WS via our own user interface.

  • Have you considered putting the resource in an AIS mount? You would have to get the IT department to update the allowed mounts in the general.properties but you'd need only do that once. Now, while this would allow you to upload and download the resource at will. You'd still need to have your IT department restart the FTS service to have any changes picked up, but that still is easier than having them copy a file.
