Allow Inboxes to see any user(s), not just "current user"

Right now inboxes appear restricted to "show me anything in current state for current user" or "show me any object in current state for any user".   It would be nice to have an option to define around an inbox one or more users other than the current user.

This might facilitate:

  •  Ability to create a special user for "pools", allowing teams to see what is in a pool that they could then pull from.
  •  Inboxes that give a team lead / manager a view of what the team is working on in the current state
  •  Ability for an internal user to see items that are currently in the hands of external users (subject matter experts, contractors, etc.)
  • Got away from this for a while.   I understand there is the ability to have a shared inbox.   What I was requesting specifically was to base an inbox definition around a multi-select of users (perhaps within a role or group).

The use case in my perspective is that we have a rather large editorial organization (90+) and that organization is broken down into teams.  My thinking was to have an inbox that provided a view into the team.

Admittedly, perhaps an inbox really isn't the right way to achieve this - what I suppose I am really looking for is some form of dashboard view of the work in progress that a manager or team lead can use to see how much content is in flight.

  • Hi Scott

Our SDL KC already has a shared Inbox. and Someone pulls from shared Inbox. and uses it.

But, If as there are too many Topics in the shared Inbox, it is hard for Author to find the topic that Author need.
