In Tridion Docs 15 OrganizeSpace, the map property in the properties pane is displayed by its title and not a plain GUID as in the Web Client from TD14 and before.
Although it is possible to use Ctrl+C to select the map property and copy the GUID to the clipboard and then use it to paste it to the locate box, it would be nice to have a more instant and version aware way to go to the root map of a publication.
Given that we do already have the Where used pane which is not populated for publications I see an opportunity to increase usability by listing the map (on top) and (then) the resources in the 'Makes use of' section of the 'Where used' pane. One big advantage is that the system should apply the baseline information to show the actual versions of the root map and resources.
This way the user has a single-click option to go to the applicable version of the root map of a publication. I imagine that many users are interested to check the root map after finding a certain publication. Going from map to publication is already easy via the 'Where used' pane. Having selected a publication version it's interesting to check the details of the root map. This way you know whether the map used by the publication was the root map or 'just' a sub-map. If the publication has multiple versions then there is a quick way to see whether there is difference in the selected root map version between the publication versions.
