I'm not aware of anything that's available that gives extensive examples.
As far as separate PDFs for documentation, all I'm aware of that's available are the Installation and Release Notes and Quick Install PDFs that are available at .rws.docscom (navigate to XPP and then XPP RESTful Web Services). The API is self-documented (once RESTful WS is installed and running) by accessing http://webservername:2995/xpp/documentation/index.html (assuming default port 2995 is being used).
For examples, you might take a look at the (Perl and JS) test scripts in the XYV_EXECS/xpprest/t folder.
