Trados Team not applying machine translation

Hello,

Today I created a project to translate into Spanish, French and German. We have the DeepL plugin for machine translation and it usually works with no issue, but today, the target section in German and French was left empty and the lookups panel just shows the source:
Screenshot of the project settings window showing a row labeled 'SUB-LIA: Interchangeability-restriction' with a progress bar at 0%.

Spanish still works with no issue, I don't know why only other languages are affected.

Could you let me know what to try? Also, we have a technical service contract with RWS, however, my colleague who is on vacation is the one who has the rights to open a ticket.

Thank you and best regards,

Ana

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about the project settings, including the languages selected and any error messages encountered.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Ana,

Thank you for reaching out! It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with the DeepL machine translation not applying to your German and French segments in Trados Team. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    **Step 1:** **Check Language Compatibility**

Ensure that the target languages (German and French) are supported by the DeepL plugin. You can verify this by checking the languages included in your DeepL Pro subscription.

    **Step 2:** **Validate DeepL Configuration**

    1. Go to the RWS App Store within Trados Studio.

    2. Click on Installed Add-ons and select the DeepL Machine Translation Provider.

    3. Check the HEALTH status. If it shows "Not Configured," click on the configuration and validate it.

    **Step 3:** **Review Project Settings**

Make sure that the project settings are correctly configured to allow for automatic translation. Check the option "Apply automatic translation when no matches exist in the translation memory" in the Trados Studio options menu.

**Step 4:** **Update Software and Plugins**

Ensure that you are using the latest version of Trados Studio and the DeepL plugin. You can check for updates within the application.

    **Step 5:** **Re-add Source Files**

If the machine translation task was skipped, you may need to re-add the same source file (under a different name) to the project to trigger the machine translation again.

    **Step 6:** **Check API Key**

Verify that your DeepL API key is valid and has not exceeded any character limits. You can check your character limit in your DeepL account settings.

If you follow these steps and the issue persists, it may be beneficial to document the behavior and consider reaching out to your colleague to open a support ticket with RWS for further investigation.
