When there are dual speakers how can I make sure the two lines don't get divided in two separate segments?

On the face of this question alone, without context, I think the answer is that this is in your control. If the source file has already separated the speakers into separate segments then you would have to address this in the source file to achieve whatever you needed. But if the source is already in one segment then Trados Studio will display it this way anyway and it's up to you to handle the translation appropriately.
