Instead of seeing "use Antidote 11" my pull down menu shows me "Corrector" and the problem is still unsolved. Thank you for your heads up!

I did exactly what you suggested.

What happens? The problem still remains ...
The software - SDL Trados Freelance 2022 SR2 - 17.2.8.18668 - freezes when I start the Antidote correction plug-in (by right clicking on the text) on a large text (around 2,000 words+)

This problem did not occur in previous versions of SDL Trados.

Thank you for the heads-up with the plugin. I could also reproduce the issue and logged an item for the team to put a fix, as internal reference it's SDLCOM-5236.

However and as alternative, until this is fixed, I used the Connectix Agent from the Windows bar to correct the selected text:

Please tell us what happens. Just saying it doesn't work is not helpful.

In the meantime please delete these and restart Studio:

c:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Packages\Antidote Verifier.sdlplugin

c:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Unpacked\Antidote Verifier\ (the complete folder)

Then reinstall the plugin using the integrated appstore only. See if that helps?
