The application is straightforward to use, just a simple drag and drop into the SDL Analyse View in Studio, or into the interface of the standalone application. This wiki is providing a few FAQs around the installation just in case you have some problems, and then a brief intro into the concepts behind it.

Current Version
Worth making sure that you have installed the latest version which is 1.0.1 and this was made available on the 3rd of April 2017.
### New in 1.0.1
- Persisted project template is verified to check it actually exists. If not the default template is proposed
- Fixed error when the line count value was set to zero
- Fix analysis differences between using a default Studio generated TM and the default TM generated by SDL Analyse
- Default analysis with no TM or project template for billingual files (XLIFF or SDLXLIFF) takes into consideration the language pair from within the file
- for monolingual files the language pair comes from the Language settings in File -> Options -> Editor -> Languages
- if multiple bilingual files are added the language pair used comes from the first file that is read
- if a TM is used that does not match the bilingual files the report will show zeros (it's down to the user to get this right!)
- Analyse view has all language pairs checked for report generation by default
- prevents users not realising they needed to check a language or all languages to be able to generate a report
- Fixed a performance issue on large files

Installation FAQs
- Min Version Requirement : the application can only be installed successfully under SDL Trados Studio 2017 with a minimum of CU3. The CU3 is a free update that is usually installed automatically through the automatic update. If you need to take this manually you can find the update here.
- Old Studio versions left over : another potential problem is related registry entries left behind from previous Studio installations that you don't use anymore. If you still have problems to install, or find the standalone application is not working correctly then please do the following.
- Can you open your registry editor (Windows key +R and then type regedit) and navigate the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\SDL\ - Delete the leftover registry entries (Studio2, Studio3, etc) - do not delete anything related to Studio5 as this is Studio 2017. Also, if you still use an older version then don't delete those either. Only remove keys you find that relate to a version of Studio you do not use anymore. So for example:
Studio5 = Studio 2017
Studio4 = Studio 2015
Studio3 = Studio 2014
Studio2 = Studio 2011
Studio1 = Studio 2009
- Can you open your registry editor (Windows key +R and then type regedit) and navigate the following key:

A few principles
The application itself can run as a standalone application that doesn't require Studio to be running, and it can also run within a new view inside Studio.
Standalone (showing the advanced view)
View in Studio (showing the simple view)
The basic idea is you drag and drop, or select, files (zip files can be used) into the interface and the application will return an analysis based on one of the following:
- Advanced View
- Translation Memories based on a Project Template or,
- Translation Memories based on a combination of you adding your own and the Project Template
- Simple View
- Translation Memories added by you or,
- No Translation Memory at all
The creation of a Project is never required. The language direction used for the analysis is based on the Translation Memories used, and if you don't select any then the application will create one in the background based on the default languages you have set here:
The reports themselves are available in several formats:
- html
- xslx
- xml
- csv
- clipboard
