I've been looking for a good thesaurus integrated into studio.
I found Sketch Engine which seems good but a little expensive at €19 for a freelancer account.
Are there any other tools which similarly integrate a thesaurus but cost less?

I think this could be the answer... but also wouldn't be free. What would a freelancer be prepared to pay for? If we built AI solutions for multiple features in Trados Studio would a freelancer pay for an API key to use it? So one API key and get help for all sorts of things.
I pay for an API to DeepL and a range of automated translation engines through GT4T.
A dictionary shortcut is provided with GT4T but not a thesaurus and not integrated into Trados like sketch engine.

Yes. We have been playing a lot with this recently and in fact the API for ChatGPT was released yesterday! Until then developers, like s, have been playing with openai models that were really clever, but not even close to the ChatGPT capability. So this is quite exciting and I can see a lot of usecases for this in a product like Studio since you only really need one API for so many topics of interest ranging from translation, to terminology to technical solutions for almost anything.
Correction. GT4T can be used as a thesaurus. It's primarily a translation tool but if you click on the source word, click CTRL + D (GT4T shortcut), click word reference as a source, you get alternative translations...
P.S. Sketch Engine now crashes my install of Trados Studio (when I close a document), I think it continues to try to do a look-up after the document closes, and you get a confused error, and an annoying crash that will only go away with END TASK.

The browser extensions are not supported by Language Cloud but you may find extensions for lookup or reference are quite useful. With this particular one you can also build your own prompts to reuse... like this for example:
This sidebar sits there in your browser and you just select a word or phrase, copy it and then trigger the sidebar. The selected text is in there and you can choose your prompt and what information you'd like.
Yes, I think Open AI / ChatGPT is a useful resource now and free from https://chat.openai.com/chat
