Unexplained "Failed to create settings page" error

Hello,

I opened Trados today hoping to work as per usual and all of a sudden I cannot access the project settings for any of my projects. I receive the error "Failed to create settings page" every time I try (see error output below):

I already tried to rename the folder and restart the app, as suggested in other threads, but to no avail. I really need to keep working and this is extremely frustrating. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

  • Hi

I assume from your error stack that you are working with Studio 2015?

MM a few things could be explored but no harm trying this:

    • Follow path to: C:\Users\user \AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0
    • Remove: TranslationMemoryRepository.xml

Let me know how you get on

  • Hello Lydia,

Actually it is Studio 2019. I tried removing the suggested repository and unfortunately that did not work. I ended up just upgraded to Studio 2022 because I could not wait any longer to resolve the problem.

It's unfortunate that problems like this happen so often with Trados. Normally I have more time to resolve them, but even so, spending several days fixing a problem is not ideal.

    Cheers,

    Zachary
