Error message: Multiterm 2015, SR2 cannot connect to the Multiterm server

Hallo,

I am using SDL Multiterm 2015, SR2 latest version on Windows 10 pro. I have several Termbases there and everything had been working correctly until this forenoon.

Now, when I start Multiterm and try to open a Termbase,  an error message " Cannot connect to Multiterm server - check your connection settings" (Actually, this is an english translation of the error message in German).

I have no idea as to which connection settings are to be checked leave alone how to check these and what the correct settings would be?

I have tried to restart the Multiterm and even the PC but the error message remains.

Can someone give me a hint please on how to proceed or do  have to reinstall the Multiterm 2015?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Best regards

  • Hi Paul,

Sorry for my late response, I was out yesterday.

Meanwhile, I can work again with the Multiterm. I would like to share with you what I did:
In my frustration I opened Windows "System Control" --> Program installation/deinstallation --> selected Multiterm --> clicked "repair".
The system worked for about five minutes and reported something like "completed successfully" and prompted me to restart the PC.
After restart, the Multiterm was working again.

I have no idea why the repair became necessary and what (which file) actually has been repaired/restored - but I can use the tool again.

Thanks again for your suggestions and help. It is good to have you in the background for emergencies like this.

    Best regards
    Shyam
