File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry.

Question

Hi, 
 When trying to reorganize a (massive) multilingual TermBase glossary, I got the following error message 
 "File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry." 
 As a result, the search feature does not work within MultiTerm and that needs to be fixed. 
 I looked for a solution and found this MS KB article: 
 support.microsoft.com/.../815281 
 but I know I shouldn't fiddle around with registry entries so can you please help? 
 I was told to raise a ticket through Gateway but cannot find MultiTerm under the Products list and was redirected to here.

Hi Miriam, 
 That KB is pretty straightforward to follow and this is the only solution. Even this may not work as there is a limit to the size of filebased MultiTerm termbases. How big is the file in terms of Gigabytes?

 If you don't have a support contract then this is not a question you can ask of support and this is the right place to be.
