In search and replace, even if the "regular expression" box is not selected, Trados gives a regular expression error for certain searches. Say for example that you want to search for "):" (closing bracket followed by a colon) and replace it by ")." (closing bracket followed by a period). Trados will flags the search and replacement expressions as incorrect regex expressions even if the "regular expression" search type is not selected. If you correct the search expression to "\):" (escaping the bracket), the error goes away, but the search does not find any occurrences of "):", even when present. Note that this error only occurs in the search and replace window. Search alone appears to work as intended.
