Hello, We translate mainly from German into other languages. For German websites, we need a lot of optional hyphens to avoid strange line breaks. Unfortunately, these optional hyphens impact severely on our match values, as you can see in the screenshot: Is there a way to configure the filetype (XLIFF) or any other settings so that the optional hyphens are ignored and do not impact on match values? We translate mainly from German into other languages. For German websites, we need a lot of optional hyphens to avoid strange line breaks. Unfortunately, these optional hyphens impact severely on our match values, as you can see in the screenshot:

Unfortunately not in a xml file. What you can do, is simply use Toolkit to remove the hyphens from the source in the SDLXLIFF file.

Thanks for the quick answer. Unfortunately, I fear removing the hyphens is not possible for us, because the system quite surely won't let us import the translations if we change the source, but I'll give it a try anyway.

Removing the hyphens in the system prior to the export is not an option?

I could do that, but I'd have to re-add them after the import. And if there are changes to the site, I'd have to delete them again, export the site, translate, import, then re-add them again, so that's a lot of manual effort.

So try the Toolkit. I hope you'll be able to reimport the file. Maybe Paul can find a better solution.
