Hi all!
I need help with an alignment problem. I'm aligning files from Spanish into English. This is not happening with just one file, but with all the files from this client.
When I align numbered paragraphs/sentences, the alignment looks like this. The Spanish text items appear in their own segment, but the English ones appear as one paragraph (I redacted it for confidentiality purposes)
This is not a big deal with lists that only have 3 items, since you can align up to 4 segments together. But when there are 9-10 items (and not just two words, but entire sentences), it becomes a bit of a nightmare.
This particular example included footnotes, but this is happening with plain paragraphs too.
I know that the client runs some macros in Word to format the English files, but haven't been able to figure out the problem. At first I thought it was because they put non-breaking spaces after the numbering (for example, (i) - non-breaking space - text). But I deleted that, and also deleted all formatting in Word. And this is still happening.
Any ideas? I would really appreciate the help!
best,
Becky
