Processing Webtransit files/packages in Studio 2019

Hi everybody,

An agency I work for have recently changed to web transit for some of the project they are working on. Unfortunately, this means I’m now unable to use SDL Studio 2019 to process these requests. Is anybody aware of a work around  for this?

I basically receive the transit package through a tool called CLM within Star Transit. I have to download the package and can then directly unpack/open the project in Transit.

After I do this, I can see a so called working folder on my PC that contains all files within the package, however I don’t seem to have the package as such saved on my PC.I can actually create a package in Transit for the project via the ‚forward‘ function and set up the project in Studio. I can then translate and create the Transit return package in Studio.  So far so good. Unfortunately, I then have no way of importing my translation into Transit to finish and upload the file through CLM. I tried to reimport the packed translation into Transit but it won’t show any changes I made.

Has anybody  found a workaround? I feel there must be a way to make this work.

Best,

Annett

  • Hello ,

Thanks for sharing the package with me. I have replied on email- but here is the summary

I have been able to handle the package correctly in both 2017 and 2019 versions and also able to create the return package-

Screenshot of Trados Studio interface showing a project with files listed in the center pane, and a green checkmark indicating successful processing of files.

Screenshot of a Windows file explorer window with folders named de-DE, en-GB, Return package, and StarTransitMetaData inside the SDLTestingAnnett Roessner target directory.

As I'm unable to replicate the issue- it makes it very difficult to try to pinpoint the problem, so I think we need to go back to basics and understand which operating system you are using (Windows 7 is coming to end of life in just in January- we no longer take W7 into consideration when releasing/updating apps

Maybe post a few screenshots into this thread, so we can see what's happening (or send directly to me)

The more information we have the easy it is to diagnose.
