It seems this issue mainly affects segments containing formatting tags. We have logged the problem for our Development and they are working on a fix, to be implemented in a future Trados Studio update. Hi Phil,

So far it's been happening with existing projects (I haven't added any new projects into Arabic so I didn't get to check), and it applies to all texts with tags (including TMs).

Hi Paul,

Yes, that is exactly the problem I have. I was actually planning to add to my post that this only occurs with segments with tags and it also applies to existing TMs. Over the past days, I've been deleting tags, writing my translation and then adding them back. Not very practical, but that's how I could deal with it.

This is exactly what I encountered after the upgrade. Apparently, the issue only affects RTL languages (like Persian and Arabic)

Yes I have the same problem as I posted earlier. After I updated SDL Trados 2021 to the new version SR1 16.1.4.4184, the target language side mixes the translation memory somehow make it backward. The error affects both segments with tag or without tag. I am using the same TM that I used before updating. However, when I save the target and open the document in Microsoft version it looks fine, but need a lot of formatting since you should have both original and target language in the document. (working with notes. Is there any way to restore previous version or it can be fixed.

Interesting we have two on a similar topic after the latest update. Phil Elliott it seems to only occur when you add a tag. Can you reproduce this?

I've just opened up a document in the latest cu updated version of Trados Studio and am not having any problems with Arabic text that I can see. Do you have any more background on this that you can share? Is it happening with all your existing and new projects? Also, in the TM results window does the Arabic text display correctly, or is this also being shown as separate characters?
