Hi all,
we experience a serious bug in Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.8.4404. When exporting xmls which were imported with Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.2.4090, the CDATA content gets multiplied. Same happens when importing XMLs in Trados Studio. A segment gets imported like this:
Would be great if this could be fixed soonest possible.

I've never seen this, but I work woth XML files every day. Could you provide more information about how this happens? (Maybe a sample file and your file type settings?)

Hi Daniel, right, I have been working on the project since May and it worked well until I upgraded to SR1 - 16.1.4.4404. Same bug has been reported by a translator in the post "xml tags get added to the target file" 4 days ago. I can send you a file if you want, but I think you can try out with any file that contains CDATA with HTML formatting.

I think that if there is a problem here it may depend on which filetype you are using to handle the embedded content processing of the html. It's not enough to say this happens with any XML containing CDATA with HTML formatting because this is not true. Can you provide the following:

With the amount of people using Trados Studio to translate XML with HTML embedded in CDATA sections I think there would be a storm on this forum if this problem was as widespread as you suggest.
Can it be that you are using a file type or a project template that was created with an older version of Studio? As Paul says, it's hard to pinpoint the problem without your files.

I'll log it on Monday if it's not already known. Maybe Patrik Mazanek can confirm this is known and already fixed for the next release. I have to confess it sounds familiar but I can't find where I saw this before... maybe I was dreaming!

I'm afraid it isn't the same. There are no duplicates in that example, no CDATA, no embedded content. Only something very weird!

Yes I do think this is the same issue as was already solved where the duplication of the content when using the embedded content processor happened.
