It's not a bug.  I don't believe this was ever stated to be a feature of the product... or have you seen this written somewhere?  To make a graphic copy into a text editor would definitely require development and in reality I doubt it will happen.  If you want to have the content in some other editor then use the export for external review and then you'll get the tags and they will be properly controlled.

If you have a support contract you'd do it via your support account.  If you don't then you do it in here.

Paul, I have not seen this written anywhere, it was just my user assumption that I can copy and paste plain text that is visible on the screen from a text editing application to another text editing application. In case I could not copy a plain text from Word and paste to any other text editing application as plain text, I would consider it as a bug of Word (without reading any user manuals).

When I export an XLIFF for external review, I can see numbers ("<30>") instead of actual tag content ("<b>"):

(I searched Help Topics for how to include original tag content into the external review file, but have not found anything.)

I think it would be much more reasonable and easier for the user to have an option to be able to copy any visible text containing tags from the editor and paste it to another text editing application as plain text without any file export procedre or plug-in.

Make sure you clarify why you think this is needed as it might help your case in getting support from other as users can vote on your idea.

In case you missed it the point of Kelly's post.  He knows how to use the API a bit and so creates plugins all the time to solve little things like this. He also sells them, so if you want to pay for them from Kelly you are of course free to engage directly with him at your own risk.

Thanks for the letting me know about the RWS Idea site! I was not aware of it. (Actually someone already asked for this same feature a year ago as I see now.)

Kelly's solution seems to be great as well. I can hardly wait for buying his/her plugin when it will be finally available.
