I regret to say that nothing worked. The find and replace box keeps showing outside Studio.

Hi people, has this issue been resolved somehow? I have just bought the 2022 version and I also have this VERY ANNOYING problem!!

This has still not been resolved, and a quick search of the ideas section didn't help me find a request for this either... so I'm wondering if anyone actually followed up on the advice from Jesús Prieto to create one?

Anyway... I did remember this post which offers a solution to the problem if you use AutoHotkey:

 Please make optional whether Find & Replace window is always on top or NOT 

Only got 7 votes (including mine) so can't be that much of a problem out of our thousands of users ;-)

I couldn’t find the idea either.

I think the AutoHotkey script doesn’t solve the issue. The issue is that the Find and Replace dialog box remains on screen even if switched to another application. The AutoHotkey script makes that dialog box always on top, while the desired behaviour would be to hide it when Trados Studio is not active, and bring it back when Trados Studio is active. Pretty much like the Word application and its Find and replace dialog box. At least this is what understood from Pilar García-Romeu …

I believe that the idea you found is already implemented.

FYI I have just resolved the uninstallation issue with the engineer in my desktop, so that is fixed!

Instead, I do not understand how to solve this issue of the Find&Replace window on top of everything - of course it must stay on top whil in Studio, as it applies to the Studio editor, but not when one goes out into other apps, Google and so on.
In the link you give here, I do not understand the meaning of
WinSet, Alwaysontop, On, Find and Replace ...
what are the steps to solve this? This is really very very annoying, unfortunatelty...

Please note that this is a behaviour that you cannot resolve in Studio yourself.  It needs to be changed in thee Studio code.

This is an AutoHotkey script.  Maybe review these articles?

These contain some examples of how to work with AutoHotKey and should give you an idea of what it can do... at a very basic level.  The forum post I referred to in the link you refer to is a forum specifically for users working with AutoHotKey.  The commands you referred to are just commands that are part of the script.:

That was indeed the original script.  But please note that I edited it to do the opposite.  I cannot test it right now because I moved to AHK 2.0 on my new laptop and all my scripts give me a headache now and I have not changed this one yet.  But it did work with the old AHK version and provided the desired behaviour... for me at least.
