I opened a project in Trados Studio 2022 using my old TM which I have used with previous versions of Trados Studio (last one was 2019). The TM can be enabled for lookup and concordance, but cannot be updated. I can use it fully by adding it as Any TM. Is that the right way to do it?

Probably there are different language variants. For example, your old TM is from EN-UK to Fr-France, but the project you are working on is from EN-USA to FR-France.
As a quick workaround, the AnyTM thing works, but I’d try to know why it doesn’t work in the first place, and then I’d try to match the language combinations of both the project and the TM.
Thanks, I will try the different language variants, but I am used to work with EN-USA as the source language. I believe another solution will be to export the TM to TMX and import the TMX file into a newly created TM using Trados Studio 2022, but that is quite awkward.
