Trados 2022 Error message "Unexpected exception when initializing view part Gefundene Fragmente"

Dear all,

in Studio 2022 SR 17.2.10.19084, I receive the following error message:

"Unexpected exception when initializing view part Gefundene Fragmente"

This message appears when I want to open a file for translation by right-clicking on it. I already worked on one of the files in question, a rather large one (2.679 KB). I didn't run into any problems until suddenly I did this morning.

The other file (141 KB) is part of a separate project (from the same client, though) which I didn't manage to open for translation at all. In both cases, I received Trados packages for translation.

I already tried this solution suggested in the RWS Support Gateway: gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge. It didn't solve the problem, though.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards,

Monika Winkler

If you are able to open any other file for translation, then do so. With the file open, go to View menu (Ansicht) and use "Fensterlayout zurücksetzen". Should you not be able to open any file for translation, go to View menu and do "Fensterlayout zurücksetzen" from the Files view. Should also this not help, go to File -> Setup -> Benutzerprofile verwalten and reset your user profile. As last resort go to File -> Setup -> Benutzerprofile verwalten and change your userprofile to one you will find here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17\UserProfiles

  • Dear Jerzy,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

In the end, it turned out I had no admin rights, only user rights for some reason. I discovered this when trying your "last resort", so thanks for suggesting it. All I needed to do was opening Trados as an admin. Now everything is fine.

    Have a nice weekend.

    Kind regards,

    Monika
