I've been using Trados Studio 2024 since the very first beta and I've never seen this happen. It's been working fine for me.

What happens if you close down Studio and reboot?

When a problem occurs after an update/upgrade, the first thing to try is a Windows Repair of Studio (and/or MultiTerm components depending on what the problem is). This will repair software connections by checking for and replacing anything that is missing from the setup, for example.

If this would be the only problem with this new version of Trados Studio 2024, I wouldn't bother. But there is more to this, for example:

 Local tanslation plugins do not work 

Not to mention cloud problems, wchich apply to all versions:

 Why I cannot add tranaslation engine to the cloud resources? 

And lack of functionality I was writting about already long time ago, wchich wuld be very helpful:

 Why I cannot delete files from my onw cloud projects as a root and only user? 

Believe me these are not only problems i encountered but did not have time to write about.  (I even reinstalled Trados Stusion 2024 but it did no help).

I bet somebody clicked on the Close button or moved it somwhere.

To get that window back, go to the View ribbon and click on the Reset Window Layout button. Is it ok now?

I'm sorry, I didn't see your post. My email provider sometimes holds my notifications from RWS for several days. I've had none for 3 days.

I don't think there is a way to deliberately make the top menu bar (Ribbon) disappear. Has anyone else had experience of this and found a solution?

I searched for you on the knowledge gateway and found one instance of the ribbon disappearing but it's an old thread dated 2018 and a very previous version of Studio:

This thread cites the behavior being caused by the Mozilla Firefox browser plugin/add-on "Grammarly" when using Trados GroupShare.

I see in your image that you are using Language Weaver Cloud.

I got back to Studio 2022 and I got rid of most of he problems.

I think Trados Studio 2023 is at to early development and testig stage to work in production

I think Trados Studio is no mature software yet. Maybe in half a year wi will gest rid most pof his problems.
