I'm getting the following error when trying to generate my target files: "Filter definition not found or could not be used to construct a generator"

It's the first time using Trados for a post-editing project, so far I have:

You did not mention this, and I did not make the connection to your first thread.

Daniel's answer is the way to go.

RE: Help exporting post-edited file "Filter definition not found or could not be used to construct a generator"

Hi Walter,

Thanks for your suggestions, however I'm now getting this error message:

If you opened the SDLXLIFF file in the editor without Trados knowing anything about a source format, it won't be able to convert it into any other ("source") format. In order to create a Word document for your client, do this:

1 - I assume you have a TM. If not, create one.

2 - In the "TM Management view, "Import" your SDLXLIFF file to the TM.

3 - Create a new project using the French Word doc as source file and the TM you just imported your SDLXLIFF file into as Translation resource.

Trados should populate the target segments from the TM.

"FInalise" the project, and Trados will create a Word document in the target language and the layout etc. of the source language.
