Hello, I am trying to translate an XML (version 1.0) file.
How should I configure the settings so that the index items with the red underlines below are included for translation?
In Trados 2021, these are excluded from translation with the default settings.

XML is a very undefined file type, and you will have to create your custom XML filetype for this (as for almost any XML file). Studio can't know what you want to translate and what not.
The things you want to translate are called "attribute values" in XML parlance. You are trying to translate the "ref1" and the "ref2" attribute of all (I guess) "indxflag" elements.
I strongly recommend you use the XML2 filetype as the XML1 type is deprecated and nobody using 2024 will be able to handle the translation (xliff) file.
