Jesus, we talked about that already weeks ago when I met the same problem which is still not solved. I went back to translation in the old way when Trados did not exist. My glossaries are lost, I have to research anew. RWS is killing its own business at the roots. Why buy Trados???

I worked for years with Trados 21/22, I could have gone on, but my machine had to be changed. So I bought a machine plus Windows 11 pro and Trados 2024. I wanted to simply transfer my glossaries on the new machine. They are lost. Sometimes, the title is still there but no contents. I tried to transfer Tados 21 on the new machine, but it is faulty and unusuable. Now, after several weeks, I come back here and see that nothing has been changed. Don't you people know that we translators are always pushed by deadlines?....

BTW, Trados is a file-based program like Word. If you are not able to copy your files from one computer to another, this is solely your problem, for which you may not blame the software vendor. This is you who manages the files, not the software.

Your posts are exactly as helpful as mine. Why are you so rude? This forum is dedicated to help other people. But it is your turn to accept the help offered. Once again, your files must be present on your old machine, if they were there. So it must be possible to find them. And as no one here has radar eyes, no one can know, where the files are. The only person knowing this is you. Posting messages like yours will not help you. Check your old PC and/or external memory devices for corresponding files. If the files on your old PC are empty, they were already empty before buying a new PC. Trados does not remove any content from TMs and TBs on its own. Only the user can delete segments or terminology from the file. In very rare cases the files can be corrupted, but in such case they do not appear empty, but refuse to open. Even then there is a chance of restoring the content.

But continuous moaning has never helped anybody. Please check your files again, they must be there. I have 34+ years of PC experience and never lost files just because moving from a PC to another one.

Suddenly, you sound somewhat nicer. You do not seem to be aware of how you come across. I mentioned that years ago already.
