There is no Perform Search button below the ribbon in your screenshot. By default it's:

You may have closed it unknowingly? If so, to bring the Search Details pane back, go to the View ribbon, and then click on then Reset Window Layout button.

I had tried Resent Window Layout to try and get this Perform Search ability viewable.   Still not showing up.

Right now only button that seems to do anything is the Perform Search button.  Clicking on that Perform Search does happen.  It just has nothing in filter to actual search.  Is odd and frustrating.

Where is the Perform Search button in your screenshot? It’s not there. Your screenshot only shows one server-based TM and its content. The screenshot should show something useful for us to help you, such as the last step that you could get to.

BTW: Nothing really pops up after clicking on the Add Filter button. Please add a proper screenshot and explain what the problem is based on that screnshot.

I am not certain what you are looking for.  My screenshot is showing all that is visible to me.

the Perform Search in this screenshot shows the buttons and add, delete, save for this function.  It is in that TM trying to do the search in.

My issue is actually what your screenshot is showing.  That part of Perform Search does not appear for me.

Ok, thanks, there is Perfom Search in the ribbon, I didn’t know that until now.

If you open a file-based TM (any), does the missing part show now?

I also cannot reproduce this problem permanently... I created a quick video just with me messing around trying to cause a non-fixable issue but I can't:

Perhaps a proper reset would help?  Close Trados Studio and then rename this folder:

c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17\

to c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17_old\

Then restart Trados Studio and see if that helped.

Yes, doing the reset worked.
Unfortunately, I now have to go through all my settings and put everything in because the old profile I took from my old laptop (new laptop and new Trados updated last week).  Will have to check old laptop to see if have this option working or not--I do not use as much as the translators I support.
