QA Checker finds inconsistencies. Is it possible to display Target1 and Target2 alongside, interacztively?

How to display the inconvistent segments simultaneouslly?

The popup windows provides Source and Target2.
I would be highly useful to have Target1 and Target2, to pick the best and propagate to the other.

Question improvement suggestion: Provide specific details about the version of Trados Studio you are using and clarify if you have already tried any specific methods to display Target1 and Target2 simultaneously.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello!

To display Target1 and Target2 alongside each other interactively in Trados Studio, you can follow these steps:

**Step 1:** Ensure you have the QA Checker enabled. Go to the Options dialog, select Verification, and check the 'Check for inconsistent translations' option.

**Step 2:** Use the Synchronized Mode feature. You can synchronize the source and target windows by selecting **View > Synchronized Mode** from the menu bar. This will allow you to scroll through the segments together.

**Step 3:** If you want to compare specific segments, you can utilize the Integrated Search Views plugin available in the RWS AppStore. This plugin allows you to filter and view segments more effectively, which can help in identifying inconsistencies between Target1 and Target2.

**Step 4:** If you are looking for a more interactive way to view both targets, consider using the Alternative view in the Online Editor, which highlights differences between segments.

By following these steps, you should be able to view and compare Target1 and Target2 more effectively. If you have any specific version-related questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.

How to display the inconvistent segments simultaneouslly?

Not a direct way to show Target1, Target2, Target3, etc, but this is what I do: I select the source text, then apply a filter (more info below about this step), then press the button Apply Filter in the Advanced Filter Display to see only segments with that source text. Last I can pick the translation I wish and apply it everywhere.

FYI: I have a shortcut set for the filtering step (ALT+SHIFT+F in my case, but you can select the shortcut that better suits you) as it is very fast at filtering by the content selected in Editor, and the Advanced Filter Display window is always active in my setup. In File > Options > Keyboard Shorcuts:

Screenshot showing the Selection Filter option with the shortcut Alt+Shift+F displayed on the right.

Anyway, it’s not straightforward and this can be an idea for the Ideas section: https://community.rws.com/ideas/trados-portfolio-ideas/i/trados-studio#pifragment-25674sortBy=date

    Will you add it?

  • Thanks. Yes, it is a manual way to compare.

And I can add the suggestion for a dedicated mechanism in the Idea sections.

    Gracias.
