The TM search default is 5 hits as the maximum. Have you tried increasing this number?

You can find the setting in Project Settings (or Options)- Translation Memory and Automated Translation - Search - Translation - Maximum Number of Hits.

I was wondering if there ever was a solution to this problem, as I am experiecing the same thing and I have tried every option that was suggested here.

The only way a get Maschine Translation results (DeepL) is when I deactivate all other TMs, which would not be very useful. So I am looking for a way to use both Translation Memory AND Maschine Translation, to get the best of both worlds.

I hope anyone can give me a quick response as to if there is a solution to this problem yet or if anyone has found a workaround that does not include deactivating the TM.

PS: I have noticed that the problem is not that there are not translation results, but that Studio jumps straight to the concordance search window if a TM with concordance search enabled is activated. It would already help, if Studio did not jump to the concordance window but instead stayed in the Translation Result window.

So just arrived back at this page (a few years later) as I am having the exact same problem, but now in the latest version of 2021 (which I am enjoying, btw).

I have "Look up segments in MT even if a TM match has been found" checked (), both at the  File > Options level, and at the Project Settings level.

I can tweak the Maximum number of hits shown (default is 5) and am then shown more or less hits (fuzzy or otherwise).

However, there is no way on earth to make Trados show me my Google Translate (via the latest MT Enhanced plugin) stuff, which is really annoying, as I have to quickly transfer src to target, and then use GT4T every time this happens, which is very often in my current job.

Anyone solve this in the meantime?

This is ridiculous, and I'd say it is clear by now that something is broken. My original post is from over 5 years ago (2016!). It is now 2021, and it is still broken. Can someone please have a proper look at this? In most of my segments I am shown 5 almost identical 95% matches from my TM, but no matter what I do I am never shown my MT providers (Google Translate and DeepL).

If I change the max number of TM hits to be shown to, say, 10, Studio just shows me 10 almost identical 95% matches from my TM, and no MT. If I change it to 12, I am shown 12 almost identical 95% matches from my TM, and no MT. What purpose could showing so many nearly identical TM matches serve? 

What I want, and I think what everyone wants, is to be able to force MT to be shown, always, no matter what is going on with the TM matches, and preferably at the top of the list so we don't have to scroll down to find them.
