&lt;p&gt;If you need to transfer your existing Trados Studio license to a new computer (please see&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style="color:#800080;"&gt;&lt;a style="color:#800080;" href="https://www.trados.com/products/trados-studio/faq.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"&gt;system requirements&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;) for any reason, you can do so very easily.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1&lt;/strong&gt;) First,&amp;nbsp;don&amp;#39;t forget to &lt;span style="color:#800080;"&gt;&lt;a style="color:#800080;" href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/17143/windows-10-back-up-your-files" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"&gt;back up&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;all your files/TMs and other important resources in readiness to transfer to the new computer.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Once you back-up the files, please open Trados, go to &lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="color:#800080;"&gt;Help - Product activation&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; and click the &lt;span style="color:#800080;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Deactivate&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/span&gt;button:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Once installed...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3&lt;/strong&gt;) Locate your (&lt;em&gt;previously)&lt;/em&gt; deactivated (returned) licence in your&amp;nbsp;RWS Account. It will be in the &lt;span style="color:#800080;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Products and Plans - Licenses &amp;amp; Subscriptions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt; tab.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#800080;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PLEASE NOTE:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;you must allow 30 minutes between initial &amp;#39;&lt;em&gt;deactivation&amp;#39;&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp;from the &amp;#39;old&amp;#39;&amp;nbsp;computer&amp;nbsp;and &amp;#39;&lt;em&gt;activation&amp;#39;&lt;/em&gt; on the &amp;#39;new&amp;#39; computer.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4&lt;/strong&gt;) Then&amp;nbsp;simply copy the activation code, open Trados Studio and paste the activation code in the window that appears.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color:#800080;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PLEASE NOTE:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;Multiterm has no activation code. &lt;p&gt;If you&amp;nbsp;want to uninstall Trados Studio/Multiterm for any reason,&amp;nbsp;you can do this easily via the Windows Control Panel/Programs and Features&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="background-color:#cc99ff;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;NOTE&lt;/strong&gt;-&amp;nbsp;Before you delete any files- please make a back-up of your local projects/files/resources etc.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To completely uninstall Studio and/or MultiTerm please first uninstall the applications via Windows Control panel&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;and select the option(version)&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt;Uninstall&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you are removing both Studio and MultiTerm, please repeat the action with each application (you should restart your machine after each task)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:150%;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Manual uninstall&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Should you receive an error message that you are unable to remove the application(s), you will need to uninstall the software manually. (&lt;em&gt;Admin rights will be required&lt;/em&gt;).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Over the years (and various Studio releases) we have been asked why it has not been possible to keep the previous version after upgrading.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Starting with the Studio 2019 release,&amp;nbsp;&lt;span style="font-family:inherit;"&gt;we made it possible to have both versions installed and active on the same machine. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:inherit;"&gt;This ensures the greatest level of flexibility, as you are now able to complete ongoing projects in your current version, whilst starting new projects in Studio 2024, minimizing any downtime and allowing you time&amp;nbsp;to become familiar with the new features.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Please note the screenshots are for illustrative purpose only, they are not taken from your RWS account specifically.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration:underline;"&gt;If you own Trados 2019 and upgraded to Trados 2021 or if you own Trados 2021 and upgraded to Trados 2022, the same basic principles apply, meaning you can use both versions side by side.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration:underline;"&gt;The following applies to all users of Studio 2024 Freelance and Professional (single user) licenses.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The executable file will be downloaded, just make sure your browser and your antivirus do not block .exe files.&amp;nbsp;Some browsers will prevent executable files from running directly from the Downloads&amp;#39; folder as an additional security measure, so&amp;nbsp;you may need to save the installer somewhere else first (perhaps on your desktop).&amp;nbsp;Once downloaded, simply double click the installer to begin the installation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When requested, if you want the applications to make changes to the computer, click YES&amp;nbsp;and Accept&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Accept the License agreement&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Trados will automatically install to your default (C:/ drive).&amp;nbsp;The application will now begin the installation (this will take a couple of minutes).&lt;/p&gt;
