Ian...I just started clicking around the new-look mantra. My concerns were quickly alleviated because when I hover my mouse over a flag, a little pop-up window appears and tells me the language name. Functional and educational!

Thanks for sharing your initial feedback - glad you like new look!

We have continued to make some minor optimizations to the graphene designs since Remy posted his article a couple of weeks ago. The use of flags, rather than languages names/codes, is one area of the designs we have reviewed and tweaked slightly.

Although we do still display flags in some pages, the Dashboard page has been reverted to display language codes, as per the current approach. The places where we will display flags are in my opinion, more appropriate to this design. For example, we will display the source/target flag from the Files for Review page and from the ManTra Online Editor - I would expect the person accessing these pages (i.e. in-country reviewers) to be familiar with the flags of the countries they are reviewing content for.

Please continue to share your feedback, once the graphene release moves into Production later this week, and you have had some time to familiarize yourself with the new look. This is always useful and greatly appreciated.

I like the new look! The one question I'd be curious what others think about is the use of the flags representing different languages instead of the actual name of the language. It is probably "an American thing" but I'm not sure how familiar some U.S.-based users will be that the red, then white, then blue flag is the Netherlands which means a Dutch language translation. Europeans are much more familiar with country flags than we Americans. To give us some credit, we know what the German, French and Portuguese flags look like but I'd have to look up Estonian and Latvian for sure. And is the use of the British flag as an English source language confusing? We write source in U.S. English...and at times there are requests to translate onto UK English.

In this initial release, we still don't differentiate between files that are reviewed and in review. But we will make sure to include it in future releases :)

Hi Rémy, thanks for your quick reply! One more question: The distinction between files that are Reviewed vs. Being Reviewed, is this part of the new UI design? Or will this be included in a later release? This is based on an idea that was submitted ("Reviewed - Being Reviewed differt color to get a better overview").
