SDL TMS 11.2.1 | CRQ-6444 | Pre-processing stage sometimes generates a zero word count

Symptoms:
Files that fail in the pre-processing stage of SDL TMS can report a zero word count even though the file is successfully re-processed.

Explanation:
The failed processing was not being accurately detected and resubmitting the file did not update the word count.

Resolution:
Failures in the pre-processing stage are now identified correctly and a second attempt to process the file, if successful, will correctly update the word count of the file.

SDL TMS 11.2.1 | CRQ-10512 | Poor performance of terminology analysis

Symptoms:
Running terminology analysis as a background task in SDL TMS could take a long time and cause the connection to SDL MultiTerm to time out.

Explanation:
The stored procedure used to identify the segments for analysis was inefficient and could take up to ten minutes to execute.

Resolution:
The stored procedure has been re-written to be much quicker. In addition, the connection to SDL MultiTerm is now more robust and will not drop if the query takes a long time to execute.

SDL TMS 11.2.1 | CRQ-6526 | Incorrect spacing in target files and broken translation entries in TMs

Symptoms:
The target file returns incorrect spacing and is potentially filling TMs with broken translations. These translations can bypass review as ICE (in-context) matches later when leveraged again.

Explanation:
Using variables within DITA content that stands for product names, for example "<tag> Help file", becomes "Trados StudioHelp file" when resolved in the target. There is a missing space after the tag which needs to be preserved to produce consistent translations.

Resolution:
The issue was fixed through an update of the filter types, so that the necessary space is preserved and the target file is generated correctly.

SDL TMS 11.2.1 | CRQ-6935 | Performance of Apply TM

Symptoms:
Any of the following could have a negative impact on the performance of the Apply TM workflow step in SDL TMS:

Files containing a large number of segments with short strings that contain numbers and acronyms
Files containing a large number of segments when AutoMatch is enabled
Files containing a large number of segments when Studio-style scoring is enabled

Explanation:
This is a long-standing issue with the performance of translation memories in SDL TMS but has only come to light recently when the profile of the content being submitted for translation has changed.

Resolution:
The issue was fixed by implementing improvements to the algorithms and the caching for translation memories.

SDL TMS 11.2.1 | CRQ-4769 | Downloading packages for a job for multiple languages combines languages in each package

Symptoms:
When downloading Studio Packages for multiple language pairs of the same job, the packages would contain the files from the target language folder and TM folder of the previously created packages.

Explanation:
When downloading multiple Studio Packages for a single job at once, the source folder where the Studio Packages are created did not delete the information of an already created Studio Package before creating the next one. Therefore, the newly created Studio Package would also contain the files from the target language folder and the folder of the previous packages.

Resolution:
The issue was fixed by having the Studio Package source folder being cleaned every time a new Studio package is created.

SDL TMS 11.2.0 | TMS-11779 | Incorrect reordering of Translation Memories (TMs) in TM Sequences containing more than 10 TMs

Symptoms:
For TM Sequences that have more than 10 TMs, when submitting a change on the TM Edit page, the TMs are reordered incorrectly.

Explanation:
When submitting changes on the TM Edit page, the numerical ranks of the TMs in the sequence would be ordered alphabetically, not numerically.

Resolution:
This hotfix provides a solution which retains the order of the Translation Memories in the way the TMS user has them organized within the TM Edit page.

SDL TMS 11.2.1 | SDL TMS 11.2.1 Re-release Announcement (February 2017)

We are pleased to announce the General Availability of the new build of SDL TMS 11.2.1. This is the first update on the SDL TMS 11.2 branch and it delivers some important updates.

We are delivering Integration updates for SDL TMS with this release providing support for SDL Trados GroupShare 2017. SDL TMS 11.2.1 also provides two new REST API endpoints for system integrators that allow for tasks and jobs to be terminated.

In User Experience, there is a new field available in a user’s Inbox which displays the estimated delivery date for the job. This field is calculated based on a job duration field and the date on which the job is authorized.

SDL TMS 11.2.1 introduces two new file types as well as providing extended support for migrating from deprecated file types.

In addition, we are releasing new features and functionality in Branding and we are announcing the deprecation of the TAUS DQF API V1 with a new version to be launched in SDL TMS 11.3 later this year, so watch this space!

Withdrawal of SDL TMS 11.2.1

As part of our upgrade procedure, we have found an issue with the release of SDL TMS 11.2.1 that was previously announced. The error relates to upgrading the database for some installations. We have withdrawn the installer from the FTP site and we will make a new installer available this week. A new announcement will be made when the new installer is available.

SDL TMS 11.2.0 and SDL TMS 11.2.1 | TMS-12205 | SDL TMS TM Maintenance tool removes tags when saving changes to the target segment

Symptoms:
When using the SDL TMS TM Maintenance tool, tags are lost after updating and saving a target segment.

Explanation:
After a user performed a Save operation, an analyzing process would run and remove the tags.

Resolution:
This hotfix provides a solution which no longer removes tags inappropriately.

SDL TMS 11.2.1 | TMS-12169 | Failure to create target MIF files for some Asian languages

Symptoms:
For some Asian languages, creating the target Adobe FrameMaker (.mif) file is failing.

Explanation:
An issue in the SaveAsTarget method for the filter implementation was leading to the failure of the target file creation.

Resolution:
This hotfix provides a solution which now allows for successful creation of the target MIF file.

SDL TMS 11.1.0 and SDL TMS 11.2.0 | TMS-11853 | Support for Terminology filters in Studio Packages downloaded from SDL TMS

Symptoms:
It is possible to apply a Terminology filter to a termbase that is set up in SDL TMS. When opening the Studio Package downloaded from SDL TMS, that filter is not available in SDL Trados Studio.

Explanation:
The Studio Package xml did not support the termbase filters.

Resolution:
Support for termbase filters is now implemented in the Studio Package created by SDL TMS. When opening this package in SDL Trados Studio, the filter for the termbase to which the user connects will be set and the appropriate terminology hits will be displayed in the Termbase Recognition pane. Only source terms with a hit matching the terminology filter will be identified with a red overline.

SDL TMS 11.2.0 | TMS-12080 | Support for SDL custom languages used in SDL MultiTerm

Symptoms:
The integration with SDL MultiTerm 2015 does not provide the correct terminology hit for Spanish (Modern) and Spanish (International).

Explanation:
The issue may happen when the termbase contains only one language pair.
In SDL MultiTerm, some languages are defined explicitly using custom cultures, which therefore do not map with SDL TMS.

Resolution:
SDL Trados Studio uses a mapping mechanism to allow for adequate language alignment with these custom cultures (the ones used to define certain languages in SDL MultiTerm). SDL TMS is now using the same mechanism to ensure this mapping is functional.

SDL TMS 11.2 | TMS-11767 | Inbox unavailable for some users after upgrading to TMS 11.2

Symptoms:
Users who had their inbox sorted by Due Date cannot access it after upgrading to SDL TMS 11.2.

Explanation:
As of TMS 11.2, the inbox differentiates between the Job Due Date and the Step Due Date columns. The now obsolete Due Date column was removed from the inbox to allow this differentiation.

Resolution:
This fix allows affected users to access their inbox again and customize the inbox layout with their preferred settings.
