Where can I find the TM in Mantra TMS? How do I access it?

Where can I find the Trados TM in Mantra TMS? We barely use Mantra, only for transfer of files between AEM (Adobe Experience Management) and Trados. How do I access the TM in Mantra? I am a beginner at this... Thanks!

Learning resources for Enterprise

Looking into Enterprise as an option and would like some non-tech manual learning material. Help section is not helpful. Still confused by what mean by Engineer.

Trying to determine if in the Workflow/Project Templates have all configurations I need for various project types.

Also looking to see how to change Dashboard for user, project managers and others--like why does Location have name of the user.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Help Needed: Correctly Parsing and Formatting SDLXLIFF Files for MTPE GPT

Hello,

We are developing an MTPE solution that processes Office and PDF files by translating them and exporting the output in SDLXLIFF format. However, our developer is facing issues with parsing and formatting the SDLXLIFF files correctly. The generated files do not match the structure and formatting expected by SDL Trados Studio, leading to TMs which cannot be used.

We need guidance on the best approach to:

Ensure the correct parsing of SDLXLIFF files, preserving all necessary tags and formatting.
Generate SDLXLIFF output that is fully compatible with SDL Trados Studio.
Avoid common pitfalls when handling SDLXLIFF programmatically.

Are there any official libraries, best practices, or open-source tools that can help us achieve this? Any insights from the community would be greatly appreciated! If someone has a good path to help us, a fee would not be out of the question.

Exporting post-editing data

How would an SDL TMS admin user export post-editing data?

Post-editing data is similar to TM in terms of the segments it includes - all projects - but it also has the intermediate machine translation included in a separate field. So source, machine translation and final human translation.

And one could imagine similar for those segments that were post-edited from TM fuzzy matches.

Is it possible already? Will it be easy in Language Cloud? And if it's in Language Cloud, will it also be able to export historic data from before the switch to Language Cloud?

APIs to create Job ID and download translated file

I am Sri harsha. For our translation service project, we are researching about TMS APIs and we have few questions related to APIs. Currently, we have TMS user interface to do the following, but we are in need of APIs instead of doing them in UI manually.
1. Is there any API to create a Job ID and submit a document (XML) in that Job ID?
2. Is there any API to download the translated document after all the workflow steps are completed?

Please provide the documentation for the above APIs, if you have any.
We have API documentation but we did not find that helps us.

Encoding for TMX files

Please advise what encoding should be used to view exported TMX files from SDL TM Maintenance tool in text editors?

We have some, but not all, dashes in phone numbers appearing as corrupt characters (little box) when opened in notepad++.

SDL TMS and Language Resource Template

I need to update segmentation rules of a customised language resource that is used for a File Type on SLD TMS (12.).

I downloaded it from TMS (*.sdltm.resource file), load it in Studio, do the changes (only adding one simple segmentation rule) and upload the updated *.sdltm.resource back into TMS.

For some unknown reason, the updated File Type systematically generates recoveries on TMS:

Convert file step not working for XML files

Dear TMS developers,

Scenario:

Client is sending Sitecore XML via Mantra to TMS, we receive the file in 'Prepare Source' (CONVERT_ITEM), PMO send the XML file to Engineering to prep, and PMO wants to use the swap functionality to Change the XML that the client has send us in the file XML file the Engineers prepped for PMO to use. TMS is not accepting the new XML file, what leads to PMO creating new job in TMS with the new file and sending it to translation. The problem with this workaround is that (1) it's more work for PMO (2) the client does not get a download notification at Translated Content Retrieval because PMO created the job, not the project requester. This is leading to discussions with client because client wants a system notification from Mantra that files are ready for download.

The explanation that is given in a ticket (ticket number: 00488163) via LDTS is that The purpose of the convert step is to convert the file format, or in other words to change the file extension. In the scenario above xml stays xml. I want to point out that on daily basis we receive excel, powerpoint, words etc and we adjust the file a little bit when necessary and upload the same format again and with those file formats it works. It is also the bahaviour we want from tms because 99% of the file swapping we do it file stays in the same format. Only with XML files the convert step is not working, can you please investigate this issue because it will save a lot of discussions with the client - and manual effort by the pmo.

Does Multilingual Excel working with TMS 12.3 and 12.4?

Is removing a segment comment on TMS available?

I received a client reviewer's feedback that he wanted to remove one comment because he thinks our translation is better than his version, however the comment was added and there's no function for him to remove that comment.

I think this funcion is necessary for TMS users and it will help avoid misunderstandings.

Root Cause:

The specified bilingual file in the error message seen above is likely to be missing from the listed path, in most cases only a .bak file will exist.

A defect (CRQ-4832) has been raised with SDL Engineering to identify why the bak files exist and there are no target bilingual files.

Resolution:

It's possible to rename the .bak file to the expected filename required for SDL TMS to identify and process the bilingual file. It's best practice to advise the Job creator that the bilingual file may need reviewing to confirm up-to-date translations before completing the translation process. The task can be submitted out of the Recovery stage otherwise.

Root Cause:

CascadeException (error in Studio TranslationProviderThrewException) comes from TM API when SDL TMS processing SDLXLIFF bilingual files either at Pre-processing or UpdateTM steps.

There are various reasons why CascadeException error is thrown. The following are known issues some of which are already fixed :

1 ) Tasks failing to recovery at ApplyTM : -

• due to duplicate tags applied to a target only segment from a TM - TMS-5211 , TMS-10259 (fixed in TMS 2011 SP6 CU1)
• due to target language not supported in Studio when Studio-style Analysis Statistics are enabled : - CRQ-4882
• due to target SDLXLIFF file failed to be copied to a target language folder - TMS-13321

2) Tasks failing to recovery at Update TM :

• due to a target segment containing either - tag only (a red bar in SDLX), a symbol-only (e.g. curly quotes) or a "0-width nonbreaking space" only target translation - CRQ-4644, TMS-11668
• due to target and source segments being empty – XLZ file format - CRQ-5408
• due to intermittent failure updating dbo.TMAttributeValues - TMS-5284 (fixed in TMS 2011 SP6)

Resolution:

Check and verify that the bilingual file in SDL TMS does not have any empty segments, tag only segments, symbol only segments. You can use Review > Verify in SDL Trados Studio.

If the file fails to recovery at UpdateTM step, you can download the SDLXLIFF or ITD file from the Recovery step and unconfirmed the affected segment, so it is not updated to a TM.
If the organization level setting Only Update Confirmed Segments in TM is disabled, then you can only push task to next step regardless of the error message. The update error is only thrown after TM Update is completed, but all other translations should be stored in TM.

TMS Debug logs should be inspected for the exact location of the segment causing the exception.
Exceptions at UpdateTM step is reported at the very end of the step operation and not after problematic string, so it is harder to locate offending segment.

Include Project TM into Translation package

Is there possible to include Project TM into Translation package, SDLPPX file, since while link to groupshare or use SDL Commute(Studio Plugin) both will download SDLPPX only but not get Project TM, it is not correct for translators, cause they will not get leverage from the Project TM, any setting to change on this?

Autosubmit WorkStart/WorkFinish times don't seem to have any effect on Autosubmit operation.

Hi all,
I'm trying to use Autosubmit to push tasks beyond a holding workflow step in order to stage delivery of target files to the client.

The 'WorkStart' and 'WorkFinish' fields in the config should allow for configuring when the autosubmit plugin will nudge tasks at the holding step but no configuration I make to the times has any effect. Autosubmit just pushes the tasks on regardless.

My config lines:-

I would have assumed that Autosubmit would be working between 09:00 and 11:30 but it nudges outside of those times too. I thought for a moment that maybe these times are when Autosubmint should not be operating, but then it nudges during this time as well.

Authorization workflow step being ignored by tasks generated by MATE step.

Hi Folks,
I have a configuration where a parent workflow MATE step splits a multi-lingual XML then the child tasks go through a separate workflow. Both child and parent workflows have an 'Authorization' step but the child tasks simply bypass the 'Authorization' step in the workflow. This seems to be interfering with the ability to approve the jobs in LanguageCloud.

When I attempt to modify step in the child tasks, the 'Authorization' workflow step does not appear in the list of available steps. Looking at the task histories, there is not even any mention of arriving at or leaving the 'Authorization' step either.

Has anyone faced this before?

Mantra API: How to point to a specific TMS instance if username and password are the same on both TMS instances linked to Mantra?

We have a question about the Mantra API and using a system account for the connection.

We have developed a connection to the Mantra API and created a system account specific to the connector. However, since Mantra is a cloud solution that links back to our TMS instances (we have two; staging and production) depending on the login credentials; how do we determine if a job is created on production or staging if the system account & password are the same? While I can create different accounts on each server, these are often synchronized and eventually, they will be the same again.

I have heard that there is an undocumented way to do this. Can we get documentation (an example) of how to point to a specific TMS instance using the Mantra API?

Setting a Minimum TM match value for a Configuration

FireFox 61.0 - upload issues with SDL TMS

Recent Firefox browser versions have seen issue when uploading files to SDL TMS (below article):

To confirm the engineering team will take the latest available browsers at the time of development and test SDL TMS against these. These become the supported browser versions as stated in SDL TMS - supported browsers.

Some browsers may automatically update to the latest version - normally SDL TMS will be unaffected by this and function as expected - unfortunately this release of Firefox includes a change that does.
