I updated both Trados Studio (18.1.3.6657) and the WorldServer components (18.3.2120), but this didn't help. When I try to open a WorldServer package, Trados just closes after a while without showing an error message. Could it be a version conflict, or what could be the cause? (I also tried other Word Server plugin versions.)

The Trados Studio version and the WorldServer Components version are correct and compatible. I have the same setup (Studio 2024 and WorldServer Components 18.3.2120) on my computer and can open WSXZ packages without any issues.
Please try the following steps:
Close Trados Studio 2024.
2. Check the installed WorldServer Components version:
3. Uninstall WorldServer Components.
4. Download the correct version 18.3.2120 from the RWS AppStore:
5. Install the downloaded version:
6. Unzip the file WorldServerComponents_18.3.2120.zip. and double-click WorldServerComponents_18.3.2120.msi to start the installation. It should be completed quickly.
7. Restart Trados Studio 2024 SR1 (CU7) and try opening the WorldServer (WSXZ) package again.

thank you for your answer. The WorldServer Components version is 18.3.2120 and Trados Studio 18.1.3.6657. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Trados Studio and the World Server plugin, but that didn't help either. I don't know what else I can do. I was previously able to open WorldServer packages normally.
Do you perhaps have any other ideas?

Did you follow the steps I provided to uninstall and uninstall/reinstalled the WorldServer components only after downoading it from the RWS Store? Or did you install it via Plug-In menu in Trados Studio?
Also: is this happening with all WSXZ packages or only with some? Is the WSXZ package that you are trying to open on your local drive, i.e on your Desktop or on a network drive?

I have tried both ways - I have downloaded the plug-in via Trados Plug-In menu and installed it from the .msi file. Now I downloaded the package directly from the website. It makes no difference.
I rarely receive WSXZ packages, and currently only from one (important) customer. It happens with all packages. I used to be able to open them (often after several attempts), but now it doesn't work at all. I receive files from the customer, which I open on my local drive.
Trados attempts to open the package, and after a while (it may take a few minutes) the programme crashes.
