This very simple application runs as a standalone application completely separate from Trados Studio or any other application from SDL. Its sole purpose is to provide a simple and fast way to validate the credentials being used to access the Google Translate API.
The application supports version 2 and version 3 of the API. The way it works is extremely simple.
Version 2
Select the "V2 - Basic Translation" and enter the API key you're using. Then simply click on validate. The response returned from Google will be displayed in the space below the API key and if it's not working it should provide you with some idea of what the problem might be:
Version 3
Select the "V3 - Advanced Translation" and enter the local path to the JSON file you created when you set up the V3 Google Translate API. Then enter the project name that you created and are validating against. Then simply click on validate.
