Why do we assume AI's previous knowledge is worse than ours?

 Regarding previous knowledge, we all expect AI to develop plenty of it. Why do we assume AI's previous knowledge is worse than ours?

 I don't think we do assume this. AI is essentially a program and it will perform or react in the way it's been programmed. So the database, the language models, the corpus it refers to, these will all affect its responses. Lets say you have a corpus of text that's biased in a particular direction then it can only respond in that way. In this perspective it's imitating a human response.
